The Light Rail Transit Operations Department has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Coordinator.
What You Will Do
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for various multidisciplinary projects, assignments and new initiatives. The incumbent has frequent involvement with various internal groups as well as public and political stakeholders. The Operations Coordinator utilizes exceptional project management skills and well-developed organizational abilities in order to ensure the Group’s goals and TTC expectations are realized. The incumbent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating various projects/programs and ensuring consistency with departmental goals and objectives. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of Departmental/Group processes and procedures, continual improvement programs, and emergency preparedness and continuity of operations plans. This position is also responsible for coordinating curriculum development which includes identifying training needs, reviewing and/or developing training plans and strategies, conducting training needs assessments, and identifying the need for and/or leading the development of training programs. Candidate will be required to participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Science, Business Administration) or combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Possession of a valid, non-probationary, Province of Ontario class “G” driver’s license to commute to TTC sites and meetings not accessible by transit.
- Extensive knowledge of business administration and HR concepts and practices combined with knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and rules.
- Extensive knowledge of transit operations and experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Extensive knowledge of traffic and transit operations, particularly light rail systems operated in semi-exclusive or exclusive right-of-ways.
- Must have experience with or ability to quickly understand and interpret contractual documents (e.g. Operating & Maintenance Agreements, Project Agreements etc.) and technical documentation (e.g. system designs, operational signage, etc)
- Strong knowledge of research methods and techniques combined with an aptitude for developing project plans, proposals and action plans.
- Knowledge of emergency preparedness and continuity of operations planning.
- Must have or quickly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of transit operations (i.e. organizational structure, operating rules, procedures, policies, etc.).
- May be required to successfully complete in-house training programs pertinent to workplace safety or other technical training course as defined by management.
- Must be safety trained and tested on a regular basis.
