What will you do?

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role. There will be more, but we can discuss those in person.

  • Oversee the Job Cost process ensuring that all capital projects and leasing commitments are managed, tracked and closed in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio performance reports and provide variance analysis of actuals vs. budget to senior management
  • Prepare schedules and tables for the quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Maintain cash flow model for both existing and prospective projects
  • Compile monthly construction draw packages as required by lenders
  • Field queries from Job Cost users and work to provide solutions
  • Facilitate monthly and quarterly meetings with the operations team and the VP of Operations to discuss project status and interpret the financial implications on reporting
  • Analyze leasing documentation and collaborate with asset management team to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of leasing costs
  • Perform accounting transactions for various projects including monthly calculation and booking of accruals for project costs and management fees
  • Ensure reference materials are properly documented and department templates are maintained
  • Develop and deliver ad-hoc reporting as required

What type of experience and skills do you have?

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in accounting, finance, or business
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent organization skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Experience with JD Edwards system and Insight Software an asset, but not required
