Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for (2) Engineers to join our Renewable Energy Programs team! As part of the renewable energy engineering team, you will be helping to make TTC’s net zero transition a success.

What You Will Do

  • Review technical reports, design packages, shop drawings, test results, etc.
  • You will be responsible for investigating failures with the Renewable Energy Programs staff and other TTC stakeholders/experts.
  • You will also review existing operating procedures, test plans, and maintenance plans and recommend changes to maintain adequate safety and quality risks in light of new REP systems.
  • Develop new operating procedures, test plans, and maintenance plans for novel REP systems
  • Review and provide input to operational safety plans, and work with TTC safety/operations departments to ensure compliance monitoring.
  • Identify technical risks and review proposed risk responses
  • Prepare or review cost estimates (CAPEX and/or OPEX)
  • Coordinate technical projects with other TTC teams and external system providers Witness major equipment or system testing for quality assurance and to ensure equipment/systems meet TTC requirements.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

  • Your education will consist of a completion of a university degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline with experience in the design and of critical industrial infrastructure, or any combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Your application will reveal that you are a Registered as a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • Your application will reveal working knowledge of the engineering practices and principals of critical industrial electrical distribution systems.
  • You must be familiar with design, system assurance (e.g. reliability, availability, maintainability, safety), formal requirements capture and traceability, and interface management.
  • Your application will reveal knowledge of government and safety regulations, legislation, procedures and standards applicable to complex electrical distribution systems and power generation systems in Ontario;
  • You must have working knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices with the ability to carry out and/or coordinate small projects and studies.
  • Your application will reveal excellent organizational, research, design and technical writing skills.
  • Your application will also reveal proficiency with computers and typical business software, including MS Office applications.
  • Proficiency with CAD systems including AutoCAD and Microstation is considered a definite asset.
  • Additionally, proficiency with software based data analysis, preferably with Python is a also considered a definite asset.
