We are searching for a full time Health & Safety Generalist in the Ottawa/Kingston/Brockville area with experience in Construction & Industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, monitor, and ensure great relationships with clients.

  • Participate and/or lead the processes involved in client program management – i.e., getting activities completed efficiently with and through other people, setting and achieving the firm's goals through the execution of four basic management functions: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.

  • In accordance with disciplinary expertise and skills sets, provide consulting to clients in areas such as: construction safety, PDA’s/JSA’s, problem analysis/troubleshooting, risk assessments, program management, interpretation of applicable legislation and practices to ensure compliance, , preparation and execution of HSE audits, counsel and advice on corrective actions, development and delivery of HSE training.

  • Perform duties to the best of their ability and in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Perform work honestly, objectively, and in accordance with standards and codes of conduct established by professional bodies and CrossSafety. 

  • Continuously upgrade knowledge and personal skills in line with defined development plans and career maps.

Experience & Skill Requirements

  • Subject matter knowledge and skills suited to the role, acquired via completion of relevant university/college programs in HSE disciplines; and / or significant and progressive career experience combined with in-service HSE training.

  • Extensive experience in ICI, residential/high-rise/low-rise, hard-scape and WAH training

  • Completion or in-progress toward a relevant HSE certification (e.g., CRSP, NCSO, CHSC, P.GSC., etc.).

  • 2+ years progressive professional HSE experience.

  • Strong ability to build and maintain constructive relationships across the organization and with key industry and regulatory partners.

  • Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and communication skills (oral and written).

  • Strong knowledge and working experience with local HSE regulatory requirements.

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Detail-oriented with a capacity for critical thinking and problem solving.
