Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for an Integration Specialist to join our Renewable Energy Programs team! As part of the renewable energy engineering team, you will help make TTC’s net zero transition a success


What You Will Do

  • You will report to the Senior Integration Specialist and will use your technical and organizational skills to support the safe and efficient function of REP systems.
  • You will ensure technical benefits such as technical capabilities of equipment, availability targets, etc. are known, tracked, and improved.
  • You will provide technical input to, and coordinating the technical inputs of stakeholders for the initial requirements development for systems and/or equipment.
  • You will participate in design reviews.
  • You will identify and co-ordinate operations and maintenance plans and procedures for new systems or equipment including integration of new procedures with existing procedures with internal stakeholders and contractors.
  • You will develop and deliver integration plans to ensure smooth transitions from project delivery to operations.
  • You will oversee the quality of contractor work, such as retrofits, repairs, tests, and special tools, and ensure they are delivered on schedule, on budget and that they meet expectations.
  • You will create and maintain KPIs for asset availability, reliability and operating costs.
  • You will identify systemic or repetitive issues with the REP systems and contribute to and/or review resolutions.
  • You will also identify opportunities to reduce operational expenses and increase efficiency.
  • You will monitor suppliers and sub-suppliers for compliance against TTC safety requirements when on TTC property.
  • You will engage with stakeholders to ensure works are coordinated and that potential barriers are identified and mitigated.
  • You will transfer knowledge from capital project teams to operating teams and incorporate that knowledge into operations and maintenance programs.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

  • Your education will consist of a completed College diploma or University degree in a related discipline (e.g. Electrical, Systems or Communications Engineering), along with extensive systems maintenance/operations experience in industrial environments; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • A license such as P.Eng, and PMP certification are considered definite assets. Additional certifications such as a Master's Electrician License or similar is also considered an asset.
  • Your application will reveal sound knowledge of the design principles, operating and maintenance practices, and installation methods for industrial electrical systems, power electronics and control systems.
  • Your application will reveal knowledge of electric vehicle chargers, control systems, low and medium-voltage distribution systems and/or renewable energy generation.
  • Your application will reveal familiarity with the operation and maintenance of electrical systems and with general operations and maintenance practices.
  • You must also be familiar with both theoretical and practical aspects of project and/or operational management concepts and systems testing procedures/programs.
  • Your application will reveal experience with data analysis and knowledge of python or other scripting languages, is considered an asset.
  • Your application will also reveal excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and develop consensus.
  • You must be able to adapt to change and assist with change management.
  • You must be able to travel to various project sites within the City of Toronto in a timely manner.
