Who We Are: Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) has been awarded the design and early works of the Scarborough Subway Extension project. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.

About the job
As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project, we are looking for a qualified Senior Health and Safety Administrator to join our team.
What You Will Do:
- Operational support and resource for the EHS team.
- Monitor completion of all project accident / incident reports and ensure they are submitted, filed, forwarded and tracked as per the EHS program.
- Ensure project safety documentation is uploaded into assigned files and maintained in an accessible manner for auditing purposes.
- Organize, monitor and manage the statistical reporting and compiling processes for submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly statistical data and reports.
- Conduct continuous updates to existing reporting processes and methods.
- Assist EHS personnel in meeting the requirements and deadlines for reporting.
- Assist with the set-up of new EHS team members and supervisors, organizing new user accounts, phones, etc to ensure compliance with the EHS program.
- Provide regular feedback to the Safety Management Team on the activities, submission status of Behavioral Based Observations (BBOs), site safety inspections, etc. and suggest any areas needing improvement.
- Assist in any start up for new work areas, including providing all of the necessary templates and documentation that will be required for reporting and program maintenance purposes.
- Maintain filing system, correspondence, documents and personal files.
- Participate in and support Safety Team initiatives.
Experience You Will Bring:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an administrative role in the construction industry (EHS experience is considered an asset).
- Safety related post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of construction site safety requirements and / or provincial legislation is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple calendars through MS Outlook.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including experience in preparing reports, correspondences, memos and presentations.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work effectively with minimal direction.
- Effective organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure work environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to anticipate needs and initiate actions based on information and resources available.
- Strong commitment to operating within a team environment and the ability to work with others to achieve common goals with internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility to redirect from a course of action based on new information and to manage competing priorities of your own and others.
- Critical thinking, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
