General Accountability

Plans and conducts feasibility studies, develops systems business requirement definitions, develops systems designs, directs system build and implementation, and develops methods and procedures for systems of major complexity. The position formulates logical statements of administrative, scientific and/or technical problems and devises solutions.


Key Job Functions


  • Develop and implement new computer systems and enhances old systems by assessing business problems and requirements, and lead the process in providing and implementing computer systems solutions
  • Lead the technical analysis, provide technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for business engagement through entire project development lifecycle
  • Plan, supervise and direct work to ensure the technical team acquires sustainable knowledge, skills and technical competencies and that the goals and objectives of the section are achieved
  • Promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies

Education and Experience

Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.


Additional Requirements


  • Extensive hands-on experience and expert knowledge of Payroll and Benefit business processes
  • Extensive hands-on experience in configuring SAP in a professional environment on SAP ERP, with expert knowledge on Payroll & Benefit configuration and Payroll processing
  • Participation in multiple full life cycle large scale SAP project implementation in the HR Payroll domain
  • Deep understanding of SAP Canadian Payroll (PY-CA) and Benefits (PA-BN)
  • Experience in year-end payroll activities and Canadian year end reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting enterprises with multiple unions/bargaining units and complex payroll rules
  • Hands-on experience in design and development of SAP Payroll schemas and PCRs
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
  • Demonstrated experience in CATS or other third party time entry systems, time evaluation and time integration to the Payroll process
  • Strong understanding of SAP Payroll processing including but not limited to, Overpayment recovery, Garnishments, Deductions, Arrears, Taxes, and SAP Retro calculation functionality
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of ABAP, FIORI an asset
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of SAP Success Factors and integration with SAP ECC an asset
  • Combination of strong technical and business skills is required
  • SAP Certification appropriate to the area of expertise an asset
