And that’s where you come in. Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid) Hitachi Rail is looking for a Software Analyst to join our Software Solutions Engineering team. The Software Analyst will gather requirements, design, perform analysis, programming and integration activities in the development of software for test automation for train control systems. They will prepare and develop automation tests and tools and infrastructure to be used as part of ITV activities (integrate, verify and validate the system). They will perform integration and testing in-house. Key Responsibilities Codes, debugs, writes automated test scripts and/or software for testing software code and platform used for ITV activities Understands and follows the company’s processes and procedures for developing T2 software Understands and follows the company’s processes and procedures for developing network interconnections Understands and follows the company’s processes and procedures for developing software and hardware interfaces Integrates multiple subsystems together to verify solution meets performance and functional targets Reviews software requirements analysis, code, test procedures and test results Perform engineering testing in the lab, desktop, and cloud environments and investigates problems reported from customer labs. Prepares reports, giving findings on problems Required Skills And Experience 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience. B.Sc. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent Knowledge of software development environment Knowledge of software architecture Development experience in Python, C++, C# Experience with Visual Studio Experience with Linux, Powershell and Bash scripting Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, methods and tools Experience with Amazon Web Services and other cloud providers Knowledge of virtualization technologies, VMware, ESXI or other hypervisor system configuration and management Strong problem solving, written, verbal and communication skills Preferred Skills And Experience C, C++, Python, embedded development experience is considered an asset Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.   • Knowledge of software development environment
  • Knowledge of software architecture
  • Development experience in Python, C++, C#
  • Experience with Visual Studio
  • Experience with Linux, Powershell and Bash scripting
  • Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, methods and tools
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and other cloud providers
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies, VMware, ESXI or other hypervisor system configuration and management
  • Strong problem solving, written, verbal and communication skills

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • C, C++, Python, embedded development experience is considered an asset
