THE ROLE:
As a Construction Intern, you will report to the Senior Project Manager and support our team with the management of multiple construction projects for new and existing vacancies.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Attend site meetings alongside Project Managers to gather progress photos of active projects or vacant space and manage the internal photo registry.
- Assist with preparation of close out documents, inducement packages and other documents requiring internal approval.
- Assist Project Managers and Tenant Coordinators with project administrative duties including initial project file creation and Procore set up.
- Coordinate with third party consultants for proposals to complete specific tasks on site and provide access as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of internal presentations and meeting minutes.
- Participate in special projects and take on other duties.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- As you will get involved with various construction projects throughout the GTA, you will need to have both a valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle.
- You are currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, preferably in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or Real Estate.
- Strong computer skills including excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge or prior experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, or Bluebeam Revu is an asset.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across all levels within and outside First Capital.
- You have outstanding organizational capabilities with the ability to prioritize.
- You are a self-starter with willingness to learn dynamic environment.
OUR APPLICATION PROCESS:
Our Summer Internships are 4-month paid terms starting in May 2023 and ending in August 2023. Please note that our application deadline is February 10, 2023.
