As part of this process, the TTC is seeking an experienced senior leader to join its team in the role of Head, Vehicle (Bus) Maintenance. Reporting to the Chief Transportation & Vehicles Officer, the Head is responsible for all maintenance, repair, overhaul, engineering, design and procurement activities of the Bus fleet. This also includes all program management activities required for the delivery of service and continuous improvement of the Department.


The Head, Vehicle (Bus) Maintenance supports the TTC's goals through the development of departmental strategic goals and objectives as well as budgets, key performance indicators and effective and efficient maintenance services and programs. Specific areas of responsibility include maintenance, overhaul and overall asset management of the vehicles, maintenance facilities and equipment. It also includes management of and support to front line maintenance staff for revenue and nonrevenue operations.


As the ideal candidate, you will possess extensive knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance, overhaul, general operations in garages, shops or carhouses as well as preventive and corrective maintenance best practices. You are a leader with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate and inspire staff and have highly developed organizational and communication skills to actively and effectively lead change efforts. You also have demonstrated experience in strategic planning, business administration and fiscal management to ensure the successful operation of the vehicle maintenance department.
