Accountability
- Coordinating O&M activities; Providing the O&M interface function to sub-contracting companies.
- Supports the implementation of Facility Management Plan and Facility Maintenance Plan.
- Oversees the Facility Management Plan and facility Maintenance Plan development and review process based on Project Agreement Output Specifications during.
- Coordinating the various sub-contractors providing different elements of building services, including architectural, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Ensure maintenance work is planned in a proactive method by ensuring all activities are appropriately scoped, estimated, resourced, and in ready state prior to start of work.
- Supporting timely submission of Development Phase O&M deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Providing the O&M interface function to sub-contractors and Onx FTE’s, and Contracting Authority for all Facility-related topics.
- Provide project coordination / control and review the designs and construction of initial works on or near railway property to ensure compliance with Railway Standard and regulations.
- Coordinating O&M activities and projects, playing a key role in assessing sponsor requirements to ensure the efficient utilization of manpower, supplies, utilities, and equipment in a cost-effective manner while providing quality delivery of projects.
- Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meetings.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual O&M reports.
- Support facilitate execution of on demand maintenance, and minor to medium repairs on both critical and non-critical mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment. Write technical specifications and bid documents.
- Support project managers with routine and non-routine tasks.
- Coordinating the various sub-contractors providing different elements of building services, including architectural, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Working in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies, and contravention´s of the Act, in a timely manner.
- Performing cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
Education & Qualifications
- At minimum, a completion of a community college diploma program, in electronics, mechanical or HVAC Civil Engineering/Construction Technology or completion of an apprenticeship program.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in a multi-trade environment and interacting with vendors, contractors, and in-house technicians.
- Willingness to work in a complex project, providing new ideas and facilitating collaboration and cooperation between diverse stakeholders to deal with complex issues.
Competencies
- Good knowledge of Project Management, Building Science, Railway legislation and Transport Canada Rules and Regulations
- Proficient in MS office: Microsoft Windows, strong Microsoft Word, Microsoft-Office Applications, strong Microsoft Excel, and strong data entry skills.
- Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
- Experience developing and implementing department goals and strategies based on broader organization goals.
- Knowledge of codes and standards applicable the operation of a facility preferred.
- Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills.
- Health status without limits preventing ability to carry out works at track level.
Safety-Sensitive Positions: This role is designated Safety-Sensitive under OOI’s Fitness for Duty Policy.
