The project will include adding over 200 kilometres of new track and electrifying over 600 kilometres of track. A new electric train fleet will also be introduced. The GO Expansion project also includes a re-design of Union Station platforms, upgraded track and signal technology, plus new quieter, cleaner electric locomotives that will improve the passenger experience. Who We Are?


ONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) were chosen by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to enter the Development Phase of the On-Corridor Works project – the largest project in Metrolinx’s GO Expansion.

Unprecedented in its scale and complexity, this multi-billion-dollar capital program will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.


What’s the Opportunity?


ONxpress Civil Contractors is looking for a Quality Coordinator that will have the authority and responsibility to stop work to ensure quality control activities identified in Quality Plans and procedures and ITPs are followed and report Non-conformances to the responsible staff and QMs.


What You’ll Do Here


  • Evaluate and document the quality of construction Work performed by ONxpress LPP, suppliers and/or subcontractors, including conformance with PA requirements, and IFC drawings and specifications, fulfilling all the QC assigned activities in the related Inspection and Test Plan for performing and documenting inspections and tests assigned to QC in the ITP.
  • Verify that any equipment that requires so, is fit for purpose, is properly calibrated and maintained as required.
  • Identify and report non-compliant construction Work and supplied product when discovered, and review/ monitor disposition of Non-conformances.
  • Control the further processing, delivery, installation, or use of non-compliant construction work or supplied product until the unsatisfactory conditions are corrected, controlled, or removed.
  • Coordinate and notify as indicated in the ITPs all the quality activities with QM(s), quality coordinators, and inspectors, and with any other party/agency having jurisdiction, including Contracting Authority, Utilities and Governmental Authorities
  • Ensure Inspections and Tests are performed in accordance with the approved ITPs and quality records and other quality documents are complete, accurate, and meet the applicable requirements
  • Review test packages and relevant documentation prior to conducting inspections and testing
  • Prepare and maintain quality records pertaining to their assigned portion of work.
  • Other duties as requested


What You’ll Bring to the Team:


  • A degree in Civil Engineer, Construction Management, or related industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil projects.
  • Preferably experience or understanding of transit or construction systems in Ontario
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS tools, document control, etc.
  • Experience leading standards audits and techniques.
