ONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) will transform transit as they begin work on the design, construction and operation of new and modern GO rail services as part of the Metrolinx On-Corridor GO Rail Expansion program. The multi-billion dollar project will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system and services for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. ONxpress is comprised of an international partnership that brings established expertise to each area of the project: Aecon Construction Group, ALSTOM Transport Canada, DB International Operations, Part of DB E.C.O. Group, and FCC Canada Ltd. have come together to deliver on Metrolinx's vision that will transform GO transit rail service. The Project will bring frequent, all day, two-way rail service to the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and create economic opportunities across the region. The project will include adding over 200 kilometres of new track and electrifying over 600 kilometres of track. A new electric train fleet will also be introduced. The GO Expansion project also includes a re-design of Union Station platforms, upgraded track and signal technology, plus new quieter, cleaner electric locomotives that will improve the passenger experience. Accountability

Reporting to the Manager - Performance Management & Lean, the Fleet Processes Specialist is responsible for supporting the Revenue Vehicle Maintenance and Quality Team to ensure quality objectives are on track , processes and procedures are compliance and improve as per transportation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Define manufacturing process and associated equipment for a new product, considering industrial policy, and existing standards.
  • Perform industrial documentation for the daily activities, define industrial master data, and set manufacturing method time.
  • Drive continuous improvement actions and industrialize product and process changes.
  • Own Engineering compliance by leading inspectors, and maintenance team to compare product specification with design and/or Customer’s requirements.
  • Participate actively in product design, acceptance and change process.
  • Design macro-process based on standard
  • Prepare introduction of new technologies, if need be, with associated process validation plan.
  • Identify needs of specific manufacturing equipment.
  • Estimate Method Time and perform a trial for acceptance any new product or process changes.
  • Identify critical process steps to perform detailed Process FMEA, FRACAS and FAI.
  • Complete industrial documentation: industrial data sheets, IMFU (Industrial Maturity Follow-Up). Perform P-FMEA.
  • Participate in validation of prototypes, if any.
  • Define workstation layouts, considering ergonomic and EHS rules and optimizing movements.
  • Perform ERP routings, Work Instructions, Inspection Instructions, Calculate precise Method Time.
  • Perform a complete and detailed line balancing and workstations task sequencing.
  • Support non-conformities resolution with Quality leader.
  • Active participants and lead for root cause analysis of Quality failure, service failure, NCR
  • Lead Corrective Action and Preventive Action session within cross functional team.

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in engineering with a Management background in civils, mechanical, or industrial is required

Certifications or Designations (Training)

  • Certified in Support of ISO 9001.
  • Certified to support QMS development and perform internal audits
  • Experience
  • Proven technical experience from a similar role ideally within an industry closely related to rail, manufacturing, automotive or similar
  • Technical experience of process engineering, writing and improving manufacturing working instructions, line balancing and lean manufacturing
  • A continuous improvement lens and a naturally collaborative team member who can obtain key technical inputs and apply them to process improvements
  • Experience with quality and problem-solving tools like 8D, 5 Why, and the Ishikawa diagram is required.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of quality standard (ISO9001) and quality tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish objectives
  • Understand knowledge and concepts that are complex or ambiguous
  • Possess a process-oriented point of view
  • Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions
  • Able to work well under pressure when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English
