ONxpress Transportation Partners has been selected by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx to lead the charge in modernizing rail service across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas with the On-Corridor Works project. You are someone who:
Understands and adheres to all of Project polices, particularly to the procurement and safety policies.
Maintains high data integrity when inputting records in the company’s database systems
Provides reporting and analysis on procurement activities, variances and impacts.
Facilitates the implementation of business specific contracts for services and/or materials
Successfully executes elements of the project procurement plan in accordance with approved corporate and or project policies, procedures, plans, strategy and budgets.
Prepares and oversees the preparation of all bid documents, bid tabulations and selection recommendations. This includes preparing the sourcing strategy, bid packages, supplier agreements and overseeing the development of the scope of work.
Works collaboratively with key project stakeholders to ensure requirements are captured in the total cost of ownership solution.
Relationship management with vendors and internal stakeholders on all procurement related matters.
Contract negotiations and preparation, including issuing approval of contract documents, subcontracts and purchase orders.
Logistics coordination including expediting for critical site deliveries.
Supports the procurement team on daily activities as required.
You bring:
5+ years’ experience within a purchasing department
Post-secondary education or work experience in a related field
Technical depth of knowledge in the areas of construction related materials and services
Knowledge of procurement principles, techniques, practices and ethics
Knowledge of fundamentals of contract law, negotiating business agreements, and laws of requesting tenders, proposals, and quotations
Proven organizational skills and ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and be service oriented
Ability to build positive working relationships with professionals within industry and internal clients
Strong negotiation skills
Strong communication skills: ability to distill strategy into a clear, compelling and concise narrative
Solid research skills and commitment to continually learn about new products
Attention to detail, mathematical and analytical skills
Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Strong interpersonal skills are essential
Understanding of ERP systems, knowledge of SAP planning system would be an asset
Ability to analyze complex data and derive well supported linear and non-linear premises
Results oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines.
Ability to manage and coordinate competing organizational needs
Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly conscientious and disciplined

This position is with ONxpress Civils (“CJV” aka the Design & Construction team); the project segment responsible for the modernization and modification of the key area network, including countless innovations in the way the regional rail infrastructure is built.
