Essential Functions: Traffic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the traffic control operations in compliance with Mosaic Transit Group’s (MTG) approved Traffic and Transit Management Plan for the project.

Mosaic
Transit Constructors (Mosaic) - a consortium comprised of Aecon, Dragados, and
Dufferin – is partnering with Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to design,
build and maintain the transformative Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT)
system in the City of Toronto.

Position: Traffic Control Coordinator
- Contract

Reports to:  Traffic Superintendent

Essential Functions:

Traffic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating
the traffic control operations in compliance with Mosaic Transit Group’s (MTG)
approved Traffic and Transit Management Plan for the project.

Duties:

·       Coordinate and execute obligations contained in the Project Agreement
regarding pedestrian and public mobility concerns within the limits of
construction, including tracking and forecasting costs for lane closures and
compiling and presenting cost reports for monthly meeting with client.

·       Engage actively and regularly with internal construction teams and
subcontractors to develop, adjust, and modify construction and traffic staging
strategies, including identification and escalation of roadblocks when
encountered.

·       Coordinate development, delivery, and approval of traffic control plans,
transit management plans, emergency services access plans, haul route plans,
and other plans (collectively, the traffic and transportation management plans)
by design consultants, including submission to authorities having jurisdiction
(City of Toronto, TTC, EMS, etc.), and tracking to acceptance.

·       Coordinate development, delivery, and approval of PHM-125 designs of
temporary and permanent traffic signals by design consultants and provide
input, including review of traffic signal timing cards and input to improve the
operations and to ensure the phasing is per applicable standard, and tracking
to acceptance.

·       Coordinate with internal communications department for the development
and issuance of advanced notification to Stakeholders for lane closures,
traffic diversions, detours and / or delays.

·       Attend internal coordination meetings with all construction teams and
provide updates as required.

·       Review and update the project schedule and attend coordination meetings with
internal design and construction teams as required.

·       Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering

·       Knowledge of Engineering software such as PrimaverP6, AutoCAD

·       Ability to effectively communicate with tact and diplomacy

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

·       Valid G drivers’ licence

·       Experience in the Construction Industry preferred

·       Ability to identify problems or issues and generate solutions, resolve
conflicts and make sound decisions

Primary work location is the Project site for
Mosaic Transit Group
