ONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) will transform transit as they begin work on the design, construction and operation of new and modern GO rail services as part of the Metrolinx On-Corridor GO Rail Expansion program. The multi-billion dollar project will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system and services for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. ONxpress is comprised of an international partnership that brings established expertise to each area of the project: Aecon Construction Group, ALSTOM Transport Canada, DB International Operations, Part of DB E.C.O. Group, and FCC Canada Ltd. have come together to deliver on Metrolinx's vision that will transform GO transit rail service. The Project will bring frequent, all day, two-way rail service to the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and create economic opportunities across the region. The project will include adding over 200 kilometres of new track and electrifying over 600 kilometres of track. A new electric train fleet will also be introduced. The GO Expansion project also includes a re-design of Union Station platforms, upgraded track and signal technology, plus new quieter, cleaner electric locomotives that will improve the passenger experience. Position Overview

ONxpress Civil Contractors Joint Venture (CJV) is looking for a Stations Project Manager. This position is based out of our downtown Toronto office and requires travel to construction sites in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas.



You are someone who:

  • Establishes construction infrastructure, defines Means & Methods and identifies critical paths.
  • Establishes and maintains project budget.
  • Enforces change procedures.
  • Establishes schedule and staffing plans.
  • Executes contracts and agreements in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Chairs project management meetings with a focus on the best outcomes for the project.
  • Ensures all project reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Oversees testing, quality, and safety of the construction project.
  • Manages client and vendor relationships.
  • Ensures project risks and issues are logged and managed.
  • Ensures all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins.
  • Assists in Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis.
  • Performs financial forecasting and contributing to creation of revenue targets.
  • Performs Design/Drawing review.



What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or equivalent discipline
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the rail industry is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in civils construction, buildings, M&E, or related disciplines is required.
  • General knowledge of non-residential construction methods, building systems, and terminology.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for normal functions and special assignments.
  • Proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) is essential, experience of using estimating software is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Skilled at building positive working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Good listening and communication skills.
